This grant funds research and efforts to prevent, treat and slow the progression of visual problems, like glaucoma and macular degeneration, that are currently incurable. WVU is the second university in the U.S. to receive funding for a visual- sciences COBRE.
To establish a visual-sciences Center of Biomedical Research Excellence, WVU received an $11-million collaborative grant from the National Eye Institute.
